Using the nail lamp itself, which emits UV light, does not directly cause allergies. However, allergic reactions typically stem from certain ingredients in the gel products, such as photo-sensitizers, resins, solvents, and so on. If you are sensitive to any of these ingredients, you may experience redness, swelling, itching, or stinging during use.
The UV/LED light emitted by the nail lamp is in the low-energy UVA wavelength, primarily designed for curing gel polish, and should not directly cause skin allergies. However, if your skin is particularly sensitive, prolonged or frequent exposure may lead to mild dryness or discomfort.
